(I know, I know—why do I need your email if I am literally sending you an email?! The reason why is b/c Discord doesn’t actually give me access to your email and it is a bit challenging to associate your discord username with your email address ^_^;;)

And now onto today’s Good News…

Today in one sentence: A new once-a-day pill tames hard-to-treat high blood pressure; easy bladder-training beats medicine for over-active bladders; fast micro-ultrasound spots prostate cancer as well as pricey MRI; everyday metformin helps people bounce back from COVID-19 faster; and a four-week online mindfulness class calms stress for patients just home from the hospital.

Good News: Scientists found that a once-a-day pill called baxdrostat safely lowered blood pressure in people whose adrenal glands make too much aldosterone, so they may need fewer clinic visits and injections.

Market readiness: 🙂🙂 (promising early Phase 2 data; still needs large Phase 3 trials and FDA review before it reaches pharmacies)

Good News: Simple bladder-training exercises worked just as well as medicine for over-active bladder, meaning many people can ditch pills and side-effects while still avoiding “gotta-go” moments.

Market readiness: 🙂🙂🙂🙂 (clinics can adopt the exercise program right now; guidelines and staff training will speed wider use)

Good News: Using micro-ultrasound to guide prostate biopsies spotted significant cancers just as well as pricey MRI gear—but the scan is faster and cheaper, so more men can get accurate checks sooner.

Market readiness: 🙂🙂🙂🙂 (micro-ultrasound machines already have FDA clearance; clinics simply need to add the protocol and train staff)

Good News: The everyday diabetes drug metformin helped adults with COVID-19 recover faster and stay better, offering an inexpensive add-on that doctors can prescribe right away.

Market readiness: 🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂 (metformin is already FDA-approved and on pharmacy shelves; clinicians can use it off-label while regulators consider label expansion)

Good News: A four-week online mindfulness course cut stress, worry, and sadness in people who had just left the hospital after COVID-19—no pills needed.

Market readiness: 🙂🙂🙂🙂 (mindfulness apps and tele-health classes are already available; larger U.S. studies will strengthen the case, but the program can roll out now)

That’s all folks, thank you for taking the time to reframe.
